By purchasing this event you represent that you have read this entire statement and are in good physical and mental condition, and are fit to participate in this retreat. You particularly acknowledge that, if you are diagnosed with any mental and/or physical conditions (including complex PTSD, schizophrenia; schizoaffective, bipolar, major depression, or seizure disorders; pregnancy; or recent surgery), you will consult with your medical provider prior to participating in the retreat.
- Multiple learning sessions, including mindfulness instruction, coping skills training, guided relaxation, and visualization exercises.
- Optional and complementary chair massage during lunchtime. (Provided by a licensed massage therapist.)
- Extra Gentle Yoga for Body and Mind. *Suitable for beginners as well as all other skill levels. Being flexible or athletic in any way is not required :-). Taught by Meghan Burke.
- Multiple handouts to aid in practicing what you have learned after the retreat.
Retreat Schedule
9:00- 9:50- Welcome and Intro into Awareness. How thoughts affect our feelings and behaviors and what we can begin to do about it. 5 Minute meditation.
10:00-10:50- Extra Gentle Yoga for Body and Mind. *Suitable for beginners as well as all other skill levels. Being flexible or athletic in any way is not required :-). Taught by Meghan Burke
11:00- 11:45- Self-Compassion and related strategies for shifting patterns/ habits. Guided exercises included.
11:45-1:15- Leisurely Lunch on your own *Option to schedule a chair massage during this time*
1:15- 1:45- Informal vs. Formal mindfulness. Practical ways to incorporate both into your life.
2:00- 2:30- Mindful Walk in the Historic Boulevard Neighborhood. (weather permitting). Includes tips for further stress reduction as well as boosting overall mental health while walking.
2:45- 4:30pm. Practical coping skills for common experiences with stress and anxiety. Learn how to bring more ease into what used to be difficult for you using Amanda's teachings. *Includes 15 minute break as well as opportunities for questions and discussion.

Hi, I'm Amanda, and I'm a licensed psychotherapist and owner of a private practice in Athens, Georgia. I specialize in stress, anxiety, relationships, focus, and motivation. I've been teaching mindfulness techniques for over 15 years, and I enjoy incorporating these skills with both my clients and retreat participants, helping them to be more present, aware, and relaxed in their daily lives.
